Where do I take the pesticide core exam to get a
private applicator permit?
Pesticide exams are no longer given
in the county by the extension educator. Pesticide exams are given
monthly at the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette. Private
applicators can take the pesticide core exam at regional sites
that are scheduled February through April. Pesticide exams can
also be taken by computer at locations in Evansville, Indianapolis,
Fort Wayne, IN; Louisville, KY; Chicago Heights, IL. For more

How much does it cost to take the pesticide core
exam?
There is no charge to take the exam at Purdue University campus
or at the Regional sites. You will have to purchase the study
manual which costs $33.92. There is a charge of $64 to take the
exam by compuer at one of the remote sites.
Is there any training to help me prepare to take
the exam?
All day training, with the exam given in the afternoon is given
at Purdue University. Cost is $90 and includes the study manual.
Registration is needed.
How many attempts are allowed to pass the pesticide
core exam?
A person is allowed 3 attempts in
one year to pass the exam, beginning on the date of the first
failed exam.
